Major Services of the Chamber

The chamber renders a variety of services to the Members as well as business and industrial community of the country like:

A fortnightly Commercial News Bulletin is distributed among all members free of charge, which contains important developments and first hand information concerning trade, industry and economy besides foreign trade opportunities on import, export, indenting and tenders, fairs & Exhibitions, Seminars, Training courses as well as Government Rules &Regulations on all aspects of trade and industry.

The chamber has established a Library, which contains Trade Directories and other commercial and industrial publications of Pakistan as well as other countries having trade relations with Pakistan, for consultation by the members.

The Chamber publishes Trade Directory of Members annually, which highlights the businesses and contacts of the members. This Directory is distributed free of cost among all-important Organizations in Pakistan and abroad and it has proved quite effective media to introduce business interests of the members.

The Entrepreneurial Development cell provides first hand information on investment in business & industries with feasibility studies etc.The training is also imparted in the entrepreneurial skills to the new entrants and old industrialists to refresh their knowledge.

The Chamber is well represented at various levels of the Government Ministries and Departments through Advisory councils/committees etc. The Chamber receives problems and proposals from the members on various subjects e.g., import, expert, fiscal & taxation the relevant standing committees of the Chamber & then forwarded to the concerned\Ministries/Departments. These proposals are given due consideration by the Government.

The Chamber serves as a platform for meaningful and constructive dialogues between the business community of this area and the federal, provincial and local Governments. This is done by inviting Ministers, Important Government functionaries and heads of various Departments to the Meetings of the Chamber where the concerned members are also invited. These meetings have helped considerably in solving various problems of the business and industrial community.

The chamber is engaged in diverse activities for the promotion of foreign trade by holding meetings with foreign Trade Delegations, Dignitaries and counterparts, from time to time. These meetings have always played vital role in expanding trade and economic relations.

The Chamber also sends Trade Delegations consisting of important members to various countries to promote their business. The members of the Chamber are invited from time to time to join the Trade Delegations visiting abroad. Besides, the Chamber nominates its members to join Trade Delegations sent by the government as well as the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry to various countries.

The Chamber gives paramount importance to the promotion of export of the country. With this in view, the Chamber performs various activities to promote export from this area, beside dissemination of relevant information through its fortnightly Journal. Some of these activities are:

In order to educate the new comers as well as to impart first-hand knowledge and techniques to the existing exporters, the Chamber holds Export Training Courses from time to time in collaboration with the Government. These Courses have helped a lot in updating the knowledge of the existing exporters and creating and encouraging new exporters.

In order to encourage the exporters, the Chamber has a regular feature to award Export Trophies to the Commercial and Industrial Exporters as well as Certificates of Merit to the Exporters showing meritorious performance in export. This has helped a lot in boosting up exports from this area by due recognition and encouragement to the exporters.

In order to boost up the exports from this area, the Chamber helps for participating in Trade Fairs and Exhibitions held in various countries.

In order to help the exporters, the Chamber issues Certificates of Origin for exportable products. The Chamber also certifies the Export invoices and other export documents, to meet the requirements of foreign buyers.

In addition to organizing its own programs, the Chamber, on invitation from relevant organizations, nominates members for various Training Programs/Symposiums/Seminars etc., to be held in foreign countries under the auspices of international organizations from the interested members for attending the said events, which are quite helpful in developing managerial skills and technical expertise.

The Chamber participates and helps the Government in organizing national and international events to promote bilateral and multilateral trade relations as well as foreign investment etc.

In order to facilitate issuance of Business Visas by the Embassies of foreign countries in Pakistan, the Chamber issues recommendatory letters to the members visiting abroad for business purpose. Besides, Chamber also issues “Form T-2” to the members visiting abroad for business purpose, to facilitate issuance of business quota of foreign exchange.

Subject to the power and within the framework of the Constitution of Chamber, disputes arising out of commercial transactions between parties willing or agreeing to abide by the judgment and decision of the Chamber, the chamber deals the cases and best efforts are made to achieve amicable settlements.

Fully aware of its responsibilities to the society, the Chamber is actively taking part in philanthropic activities to ameliorate the sufferings of the poor masses. Some of these activities are:

The Chamber is running a free dispensary in its premises and providing free medical treatment to the people.

The Chamber also awards Scholarship to the deserving students on the recommendations of the Heads of the Educational Institutions.

The Chamber also extends donations to the victims of the natural calamities, as and when required, to help mitigate their sufferings. The Chamber also responds to the call of the Government at all such exigencies with the assistance in cash, kind and services.

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce has a history of organization very successfully Industrial exhibition of international level in the region. The occasion offers a rare opportunity for cultural & social exchange between the people from diverse communities. The occasion may actually be used to introduce Pakistani culture & living style to the visitors in a healthy manner. The activity is aided to generate economic activity and boom to the Industry & trade in the region. Industries & traders a vote through the year RCCI Industrial Exhibition & participatans in them with the quality and innovation products RCCI Industrial Exhibition welcome participants only all over the country but from other countries also. Delegations from Afghanistan, China, and Iraq regularly participate in RCCI Industrial Exhibition. Exposure & display of products & services to the potential customers on the spot are major benefits of the event. Now Industrial Exhibition has become an annual feature of RCCI activities.
